I had this vision of two young ladies who were walking down a sidewalk and they were being chased down by people that adored them. They were supposed to be famous, but I didn’t recognize them. Once they got away from the crowd of people idolizing them, they passed some homeless people on the street, one of which was Jesus with outstretched legs. It was His turn to pan handle. Prophetically, I knew all Jesus hoped to get from these ladies was a quarter, but obviously a mere quarter doesn’t have much buying power, so I was unsure why. Due to the fact they weren’t looking towards Him, they tripped over His legs and one of the young ladies called Him a “filthy Jew”. Even she looked shocked at the words came that out of her mouth. Out of peer pressure and nerves, her friend said “…well, you did trip her”. They shrugged the whole thing off as they continued walking down the sidewalk before vanishing into thin air. As one would expect, they didn’t even make it to the pedestrian crosswalk at the end of the block. Jesus then told me that had they stopped to put a quarter in His cup, He would have shared the gospel with them and prophesied over them. Instead, they vanished like the temporary vapor that is life on earth.
James 4:14 - whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away
I wondered if I would have recognized Jesus despite the tempting assumption that I would have because I have a prophetic gift. I was sad thinking about the possibility of not recognizing Jesus and the possibility that nobody I know in real life would recognize Him either. “Who has your REAL word in their hearts, Lord?!”, I asked. He replied “…they’re homeless”. I asked if He meant homeless as in unhoused, or if He was referring to those whose real home was in heaven. He said “a bit of both”.
Jesus then spoke to me about the real meaning of the Parable of the Sower. I thought I knew what it meant until I realized I absolutely did not know the true meaning of the parable whatsoever. The true meaning of the parable is this: we are to scatter seeds everywhere to determine what ground is fertile and which isn’t. Sowing doesn’t change the nature of the ground, or somehow “prove” to God that we believe our harvest is arriving, it actually tests which soil produces ripe fruit and which doesn’t. That’s why we are to scatter it everywhere. We are the soil; each human possessing a proverbial plot of land called a soul which is freely given by God. When others stop to scatter a seed on the soil that is us, they’re essentially testing the spirit. Only Jesus can change our soil from rocky to fertile, not a financial donation to man. He brought me back to the vision with the self important ladies and told me that’s why He asked them in spirit (“telepathically” in secular terms) to sow a small financial seed. That proves these ladies did indeed have the ability to hear God. However, it was their choice alone whether or not they’d listen. For Jesus, it wasn’t about the money, it was about their willingness to stop everything they were doing, put themselves on the back burner, and humble themselves enough to oblige the request of a man whose home is not on earth. They failed the test.
Matthew 13:3-9 - Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
About an hour after Jesus was correcting common misconceptions about the parable to me, I saw a quarter on the ground about two inches from my right foot. I immediately noticed that it had a beautiful tree on it (Connecticut), and God reminded me once again what He had told me about each human He created being soil of varying types according to their relationship with God (or lack thereof). I was overwhelmed with shock as I realized it was JESUS that had requested a quarter from the women in my vision. I had my hand over my mouth and cried tears of joy as God ministered to my heart that I do indeed recognize the Holy Spirit. As I remembered that God told me He would have shared scripture with the women had they just given Him a quarter, I heard God say “Go”. I knew He was talking about the online ministry He called me to run. Just like the picture of the tree on the quarter, it was His promise that when others tested the soil coming from my ministry, it’d be fertile.
